Dr.techn. Zlatan Ajanović is a Senior Lecturer and Researcher at Technikum Wien, with experience from both industry and research. Previously, he was a postdoctoral researcher at the Chair for Machine Learning and Reasoning at RWTH Aachen University with Prof. Hector Geffner, and a postdoctoral researcher at TU Delft with Prof. Jens Kober, where he has worked on vision-language-action models since 2022. He earned his PhD in Automation and Control from Graz University of Technology, after industrial work at Prevent and AVL on automotive production, neural-network detection and series vehicle software, and automated-driving validation with Volvo Cars. His research focuses on decision-making and control for autonomous robots, from vehicles and mobile robots to manipulation, drawing on planning, learning, and control theory. He has received multiple best paper awards, including the IFAC Young Author Award, as well as the Hans List Award and the DAAD AInet PostDoc Fellowship. He has co-organized several workshops, schools and conferences, most notably the AAAI 2025 and ICAPS 2025 workshop Bridging the Gap Between AI Planning and Reinforcement Learning (PRL), the ICAPS 2025 Workshop on Planning and Robotics (PlanRob), the ICRA 2026 Xplore Workshop, the IEEE RAS Summer School, the ICRA 2023 Workshop on Life-Long Learning with Human Help (L3H2), the 2023 BeNeLux AI Conference, and the ICAPS 2024 Conference.
